From the early days of NESticle offering Nintendo NES action on 486 computers, emulation has always been something I’ve followed closely. The ability to have our gaming past on newer platforms has always been a fantastic asset to retro gamers, and the perfect excuse to avoid digging out and hooking up your consoles in the attic. Further adding to this, save states have also provided a new way of playing, eliminating the need to set aside a good few hours to beat an old favourite too. Simply put, although a grey area, emulation has revolutionised the retro gaming scene and the way we play games today.
