If you’re a fan of C64 music – and thanks to the fantastic SID chip, many of you are – you might want to have a look at the Kickstarter for Reformation. Headed up by The Last Ninja 2 musician Matt Gray, the project is offering backers a CD of C64 tunes remade with modern audio technology. In addition, backers can receive a CD soundtrack for The Last Ninja 2, and the first stretch goal has been hit meaning that six brand new SID tunes from Matt are on the way.
While the project has already reached its £25,000 funding goal, backers over the remaining 12 days are working towards stretch goals including an additional CD with more remade tracks at £60,000. The £75,000 goal is perhaps the most tantalising, as it promises remakes of tunes from other famed C64 musicians such as Rob Hubbard and Martin Galway, as well as remakes of two Matt Gray tracks by Turrican composer Chris Huelsbeck.
