With only a few upcoming releases left, it is finally time to welcome the Nintendo Wii into the RetroCollect Video Game Database. Read further to discover what exactly has been added.
While there’s still a little bit of life left in Nintendo’s motion-control console due to a couple of announced holiday releases, you did let us know you desperately wanted to see the Wii added to our database already. It’s been almost eight years since the little white box hit the market and over those years, a total of 1222 games has been released for it. The latest one being Skylanders: Trap Team, which launches today. Perhaps surprisingly with all the complaints about shovelware, this is less games than the Sony PlayStation managed to receive during its lifetime.
Please send a big thank you towards fellow RetroCollect member Atsumer, who single-handedly created this update and also happens to own an amazing Wii collection.
We hope you enjoy this fantastic update which brings us a huge step closer to covering all European console releases. If your favorite system is still missing, don’t fret, we have several other additions almost ready, you can expect to see them appear later this month. We’ll also be launching another update soon which will add missing compilations, homebrew games and the like to existing platforms.
Besides the Wii addition, a few other gaps in the database have been plugged, not the least of which is a newly discovered PSP game. See the changelog below for a full list of additions.
Finally, a special note to all owners of Manchester United Manager 2005. We have merged this game with LMA Manager 2005 as it is essentially the same game. If you did not own LMA Manager 2005 yet it has automatically been added to your collection.
