The updated Vega still has several weeks to go, but it’s already smashed its crowdfunding target.

Retro Computer Ltd was asking for £100,000 in order to fund its second edition of the Vega and it’s smashed the target effortlessly. It’s currently on £252,000 and shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if it manages £500,000, which is quite impressive.

It’s possible that the added portability of the new Vega Plus is adding to its appeal, although we still feel it needs HDMI output and some bigger games in order to be truly essential.

You can expect a review of the Vega Plus when it’s released later this year, but in the meantime look out for an interview with the creators in issue 153.
