Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders are now live and with two editions up for grabs, a couple of bonuses to choose from, and some early discounts in the UK, things are already heating up ahead of October 23.
Here’s what you need to know. Both $69.99 / £69.99 Standard and $99.99 / £99.99 Vault Edition MW4 pre-orders are now available, though retailers are adding their own bonuses onto the former. Amazon’s standard edition copies also come with five hours of double XP (at launch) and Best Buy’s (Currys in the UK) comes packaged up with a free steelbook. That’s if you’re not interested in any digital extras.
The Vault Edition is your digital deluxe, available via Xbox or PS Store (or with a Steelbook at Best Buy if you’re in the US). The boosted MW4 pre-order comes with:

So here’s what I would do. Amazon is your go-to if you’re after the standard edition. You’re still getting something extra in that double XP, but the site is still currently guaranteeing release day delivery. Best Buy will swap those points for a steelbook, but speedy delivery isn’t confirmed as such on the listing itself.
In the UK, you’ll be heading to Currys. Amazon is matching the same price, and swapping the steelbook for double XP, but strangely delivery times are a little less concrete at the time of writing. On the flip side, Currys has free release day delivery advertised with that shelf piece as well.

Standard Edition
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 + Double XP: $69
Amazon has its double XP offer back in action for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders. That means you’re getting Open Beta (with a code sent from August 21) as well as five hours of boosted XP. That’s an Amazon exclusive perk, and seeing as release day delivery is up for grabs those not interested in the steelbook should be heading here first.

Physical collectors will want to head to Best Buy instead, where you’ll find a free steelbook up for grabs. Shipping times are a little looser here, with current estimates put your copy arriving “on or shortly after release date.” If you’re nearby, though, pickup is available at launch.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Standard Edition: $69
Walmart and GameStop both have regular Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders up for grabs, though without Amazon’s extra XP or Best Buy’s steelbook. Walmart is still advertising launch day shipping, though.

Xbox players can pick up both the digital-only Vault Edition and a physical steelbook to go with their MW4 pre-order at Best Buy this week. That’s the full loadout of extra packs and BlackCell with something to stick on the shelf as well. If you’re a returning player, though, it’s worth opting for Microsoft’s discount instead. View Deal

If you own other digital Call of Duty titles on your Xbox account, you can grab a 10% discount on the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition. You’ll see your new price ($89.99) at checkout automatically if you’re eligible.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 + Steelbook: was £69.99 now £62.99
Currys is also honouring that 10% discount (you’ll see it at checkout instead, though) while also throwing in a free steelbook. Right now that’s the only retailer with the physical bonus in tow but there’s also free release day delivery up for grabs.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders are cheaper across the board in the UK, with most retailers offering a 10% discount on the PS5 version as standard. If you’re after an Xbox copy, you can save even more. That means Amazon’s double XP offer is standing pretty tall right now, just watch that delivery timing.
Other retailers have Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4’s standard edition up for pre-order, but without any additional bonuses. Very’s on it with release day delivery, but others may take a little longer (if you can’t collect).

Vault Edition
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition: £99.99
UK players can also take advantage of a 10% discount if they have a previous title in their library. Linked above is the £99.99 (£89.99 after discount) Xbox version, but the PS5 version is also available at the PlayStation Store.
When is the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 release date?
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 officially launches on October 23, 2026. Those who pre-order the Vault Edition, though, have access to the campaign from October 16 onward.
How do you join the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 open beta?
The original Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 beta required a pre-order code to access, but weekend 2 (August 28 – September 1) is fully open for console, PC, and Switch 2 players. You’ll simply need to download the beta as a separate install, with preload starting from 9am PT on August 26. The open beta will being at 10am PT on August 28 and run until 10am PT on September 1.
Is there a Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Collector’s Edition
There is no Collector’s Edition for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, but that’s not exactly surprising. There hasn’t been a physical goodie bag up for grab since the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Dark Edition back in 2019.
