Final Fantasy 7 Revelation release date finally set for April, new trailer shows off open-world gameplay in the Wutai region

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is going to release on April 8, 2027

The new PlayStation State of Play trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation focused on the party members, with new looks at Cid and Vincent who round out the original cast of Final Fantasy 7 characters featured in the original game. Not only that, but we got a new look at some of the areas featured in the final chapter, like Yuffie’s home of Wutai.

More importantly, however, Square Enix confirmed exactly when we’ll be playing Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, with an April 8, 2027, a date which is almost exactly seven years after the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on April 10, 2020.

Square Enix followed up this trailer with a deep-dive into the gameplay of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, showing some of the open-world gameplay and the party channeling their inner Fortnite as they dive off the battle bus.

This is a developing story… more to follow…

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation includes more spin-off characters, Naoki Hamaguchi says, and devs “thought really hard” about including more compilation references for the trilogy’s finale.
