Nintendo has just announced the release of the SNES Mini. Rumours of its existence have been circulating for months, but Nintendo has finally unveiled the machine and it come with a stunning array of titles.
Although there are only 21 games (no doubt due to their size compared to NES releases) each and every one is a stunner and in many cases, some of the best examples of their genres. Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid, Super Punchout!!! and Starfox are all included, as well as the news that the previously unreleased Starfox 2 will make the list as well!
Third party support is also excellent and includes Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts, Super Street Fighter II and Mega Man X from Capcom, Final Fantasy III, Secret Of Mana, Earthbound and Super Mario RPG from Square Enix and Super Castlevania IV and Contra III: The Alien Wars from Konami.
A pricepoint of $80 has been announced so far and it’s due out on September 29. Considering how quickly the NES Mini sold out, make sure you preorder sooner, rather than later.
