Bomberman Goes Mobile

Bomberman is pretty great, but he’s been neglected a bit since Konami absorbed Hudson Soft a couple of years ago – we haven’t seen hide nor hair of the blast-happy battler since One Hundred Person Battle Bomberman, a 2012 mobile game that wasn’t nearly as awesome as the name makes out. Thankfully though, he’s back on iOS and Android with a new game that appears to avoid making horrible changes to one of the best multiplayer games ever.

Unfortunately, if it appeals to you, it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to get it unless you’re in Japan as the game is region-locked on both platforms. It seems we’ll just have to wait until the game is released elsewhere, or employ trusty hacks to get the job done. Until then, if you want to fill your phone with Bomberman goodness, we’d suggest getting a digital copy of issue 67 of Retro Gamer, featuring a cover story on the man himself.
