Chip’s Challenge 2 Finally Released!

Chip's Challenge 2 Finally Released!Chip’s Challenge is a favourite of many puzzle gamers, and it’s not hard to see why. The game was an addictive, enthralling game that fascinated players on the Lynx and beyond, which is an especially awesome achievement considering it was made in 10 weeks.

Over the following two years, designer Chuck Sommerville developed a sequel that ultimately never saw the light of day, due to the sale of the trademark to an owner that wanted Chuck to self-fund the publishing. In a press release, Chuck said “When I couldn’t release Chip’s Challenge 2, it hit me really hard. Not only had I spent two years perfecting it, I also felt I’d let down the fans too. I generally thought the only way Chip’s Challenge 2 was ever going to see the light of day was by having my wife leak it on the internet on my death.”

However, negotiations with the trademark owners have proven successful and Chip’s Challenge 2 is finally available to PC gamers on Steam. Chip’s Challenge 2 is now available individually for £3.99 (with a level editor as DLC for £1.99) or as part of a bundle containing the original Chip’s Challenge and the DLC level editor for £3.99. The release ends an agonising 25 year wait for the game to become available, and is sure to please fans everywhere.
