Europe’s largest Hosted Exchange platform for resellers celebrate their 15th year

(PRWEB UK) 20 August 2014

1999 – the year when Westlife were dominating the charts, when Nintendo Gameboys were the ‘must-have’ device and when you needed an extra briefcase just to carry around your mobile phone.

It’s also the time when you had to wait 5 minutes to connect to the internet; after making it clear that the rest of the household were, under no circumstances, allowed to use the landline until you had finished.

Given the above, it’s no surprise that many businesses have not survived the substantial changes seen in this time. However, Giacom World Networks Ltd are the exception, having recently celebrated an impressive 15 years in the business.

Incorporated in 1999, Giacom’s first ever product was ‘free Internet access’. Having achieved 20,000 dial-up clients in just a couple of years, the next product added to their portfolio was Web and Email Hosting. By 2002 they’d added Dedicated Servers to their range.

3 years later, and with 10 more staff members on board, the team moved to larger premises and subsequently launched their Email Security service, providing message filtering and archiving services.

It was at this point that they introduced their dedicated reseller channel, MessageStream, which now has over 2,300 IT resellers across the UK and beyond, and manages in excess of over 68,000 Hosted Exchange mailboxes.

In 2010 they introduced their game-changing Exchange 2010 service, transforming the business to become the second largest Hosted Exchange network in Europe.

Having added additional revolutionary cloud services such as Hosted SharePoint and Hosted Exchange 2013 just last year, Giacom World Networks Ltd are still growing from strength to strength and now boast over 30+ staff members, who are based at their picturesque offices in Hessle, East Yorkshire.

And with new products due for launch within the next few weeks, there’s no sign of slowing down.

Managing Director Nick Marshall describes the biggest change he has seen over the last 15 years. “It’s a cliché, but it has to be the cloud. Who buys servers anymore?”

“Introducing cloud-based Exchange to our platform was initially only a protection move with many of our Email Security clients moving away to other Hosted Exchange providers. We took a glance into the future and realised that we needed Hosted Exchange on our portfolio to retain clients who wanted the whole package. And the rest, as they say, is history!”

So, here’s to the next 15 years!
