Get Splinter Cell For Free!

Cast your mind back to the early Noughties, when Sega had only just stopped making consoles and Limp Bizkit was still considered a relevant musical act. Back in those days, an upstart games magazine called GamesTM had just launched and the star of its first cover was a chap named Sam Fisher, a stealthy spy bloke who did lots of night-vision sneaking in the outrageously good Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.

Fast forward to 2016 and Splinter Cell is a veteran franchise, one of the core pillars around which Ubisoft has built its multi-million pound empire. So, as part of the company’s 30th birthday celebration, PC gamers can now download Splinter Cell for the bargain-tastic price of zero. Nothing, no pounds, nil pence, not even that old French Franc that’s been in your house since your wonderful 1997 trip to Paris.

Click here to go and get the game – you’ll need to install Ubisoft’s Uplay client and sign up for an account to claim your freebie, but that’s a small effort. The game will be available until mid-August, at which point it will be replaced by another Ubisoft game (last month’s was Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, so it’s well worth keeping an eye out).
