SAGE 2018 Information: Delay, Booths, Trailer and More

It’s been a little while since we’ve talked about the 2018 Sonic Amateur Games Expo. Look, I know you read the title, so let’s go ahead and get it out of the way: SAGE 2018 is DELAYED to August 25th through September 1st. We want to bring you the best show possible, and unfortunately, that means pushing the date back just a bit to ensure that’s possible. On the bright side, this does extend the deadline for submissions. We will now be accepting submissions to SAGE up until August 18th. Now with the worst out of the way, let’s talk about the show itself and how you can join us this year!

Per usual, we’ve gotten a lot of questions about how to submit your game to SAGE and what needs to be done. Fortunately for you, we’ve got a handy guide from last year’s SAGE on how to submit your game to the SFGHQ Showcase. From there, we just need an email with a 500 x 500 title/logo png image for your game, as stated in the guidelines. Remember: do not send us your game to the SAGE email directly! We will not make your booth for you! If you need a refresher, make sure to review the SAGE guidelines!

As we have for the last couple years, we’ll be putting together a trailer for SAGE 2018! If you’d like your game to be shown off in this year’s trailer, please submit a 10 second clip of your game to the SAGE email. We recommend your clip being .mp4 format, 1920 x 1080, 60 frames per second to ensure it looks as good as possible within the trailer. The deadline for trailer submissions is July 28th.

Our schedule is wide open for streaming! Once again, you can review the guidelines for streaming on the 2018 guidelines post. And even better, if you’ve got someone you’d like to suggest streaming during SAGE week, feel free to have them get in touch with us on our Twitter.

Speaking of which, you can mark your calendars now: our kickoff stream for SAGE 2018 will be hosted on the SAGExpo YouTube on Friday, August 24th, starting at 6:00PM CDT! Our goal is try to play through (or at least sample!) everything this year, leading to the midnight launch of the SAGE site!

That’s all for now! If you’ve got questions about the show, make sure to reach out to us on Twitter or through our email, and we’ll see you August 25th!
