This month marks 20 years since the UK launch of Sony’s industry-changing PlayStation console, and to celebrate we’ve put together a bookazine featuring 180 pages dedicated to the little grey box of wonders.

If you owned one of these iconic machines, you’ll know that it was home to a huge number of classic games, including Final Fantasy VII, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night, Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding, Tekken, Ridge Racer, Wipeout and Crash Bandicoot. You’ll find in-depth features on all of these inside, as well as a closer look at cult hits such as Hogs Of War, Vib Ribbon, Dino Crisis and Twisted Metal. And of course, we can’t forget pieces on Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Time Crisis and more.

As well as the games, the book looks at the machine itself and its impact on the games industry, from humble beginnings as a joint project between Sony and Nintendo to the first console to top 100 million units. As well as that, you’ll find our pick of the console’s essential games, as well as the reader-voted top 25 and expert overviews of the machine’s less well-known side, from import releases like Slap Happy Rhythm Busters to cult classics like No One Can Stop Mr Domino.

You can buy the book now from imagineshop.co.uk and all good newsagents for £9.99, or get a digital copy from greatdigitalmags.com for £4.99.
