Is The Duskbloods going to be on PC and other consoles? For now, it’s not looking good because the game is locked to the Switch 2. That’s obviously quite unfortunate if you wanted to play The Duskbloods given that many of FromSoftware’s games, like Elden Ring, its Nightreign spinoff, and the Dark Souls series have all been widely available across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and even Nintendo’s consoles. But there is a chance it could eventually come to other platforms, so I’ve explained how a PlayStation, Xbox, or PC release for The Duskbloods could happen.
Is The Duskbloods coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X?
No, The Duskbloods will not be coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox at launch because it’s a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive – if you don’t have a Switch 2, you won’t be playing it, sadly.
But it’s possible that The Duskbloods could come to PC and other consoles after launch. Looking at previous games, Monster Hunter: Rise launched on the Nintendo Switch in March 2021 and came to PC in January the following year, then PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in January 2023. The Duskbloods could follow suit depending on the agreement between Nintendo and FromSoftware, remaining a Switch 2 exclusive for at least a year or two to help sell a few more units by banking on FromSoftware’s following. Then the game can get a second wind from a wider release.
Alternatively, Bloodborne is one of FromSoftware’s best and has been infamously imprisoned on the PS4 (though you can play the PS4 version on a PS5 as well) for over a decade. That’s partly because Sony owns the Bloodborne intellectual property rather than FromSoftware, so the developer can’t just do what it wants with the game.
However, it seems like FromSoftware does own the Duskbloods IP and made the game with heavy involvement from Nintendo instead. That means the studio should have more freedom to do what it wants with The Duskbloods unless there’s an extremely long or perpetual exclusivity agreement with Nintendo that specifically forbids bringing the game to other platforms. Fingers crossed that isn’t the case and The Duskbloods does eventually reach other platforms, and I really hope crossplay is added too – I’m looking at you, Nightreign!
