Is Payback Warp3d playable on 68040 MMU?

Hi friends,

I just have a quick question, not to go too in-depth — I’ve recently acquired Payback and updated it to 7 from Aminet. Whilst the game plays brilliantly with the software renderer, the hardware acceleration is a bit of a slide show. I’m sure the setup is using hardware as the performance is the same in 320×240 as it is all the way up to 1024×768.

The Warp3d is functioning well – BlitzQuake and Descent work great (Blitz has some errant polygons but this must be settings-oriented?) Gears demo is fine.

Hardware is Amiga 1200, full 040 @ 40Mhz, 64MB RAM, Voodoo3 3000, Mediator (the original one), and if it’s worth mentioning I also have the RTL3189D 100Mbps NIC and SoundBlaster 128. Exec is reloc’d to fast RAM and 68040 is initialised with RemApollo.

So the question is – in anyone’s experience the Payback game playable with hardware acceleration on a 68040/40?
