Have you ever wanted to own the blood of a famed game designer? It’s a common desire [is it? – Darran], but those of you that aren’t quite as ruthless as us [erm… – Darran] are probably unwilling to extract it yourselves. [Nick, what have you been doing? – Darran]
Luckily for you lot, Richard Garriott is here to help out. Having spent many years designing games including the famed and long-running Ultima RPG series, he’s now offering his own bodily fluids to excited gamers. For a starting bid of $5,000 you can put yourself in the running to own one of just six limited edition reliquaries containing the blood of Lord British, designed by artist Steve Brudniak.
Of course, you’ll also get a bunch of other stuff – as well as a visit to the Portalarium office in Austin, Texas, you’ll receive a huge bundle of items from Shroud Of The Avatar, an RPG by Portalarium. These include a blood fountain, blood elemental pet and even the ability to turn your town’s water blood red.
If you’re interested in owning this frankly bizarre piece of gaming memorabilia, check out the eBay auction here – and if you want proof of the blood extraction, check out the video above (not for the squeamish, obviously).
