Can you save Aurelio in Star Wars Zero Company?

September 1, 2026 / admin / retro news

Aurelio in Star Wars Zero Company is a Rodian teammate who appears in the first mission, only to be beaten to death by a Coil Brute during the tutorial. Aurelio dying isn’t exactly sad – he had maybe two lines prior to his clubbing – but with Zero Company having a permadeath system and new recruits being pretty expensive, is there a way to save Aurelio and stop him from dying?

No, there is no way to save Aurelio’s life in Star Wars Zero Company. Him dying as part of the tutorial is locked in, as the game won’t progress until you make the choice that results in his death. Basically, you can’t do anything except place him in the spot where the Coil will than attack him.

Aside from anything else, this is actually to introduce a key mechanic of Zero Company: permadeath. All team members and operators in the game can be killed permanently, wiping them out for the rest of the campaign. They don’t die as easily as Aurelio does, as he’s introduced with two injuries off the bat, but aside from protagonist Hawks, all other characters can be subject to permadeath.

To tie into this, you can return to the hub zone known as the Den and check out the Memorial area at any point, which keeps a log of all killed members of Zero Company and their stats. Yes, that includes major or named characters, including Jedi and Droids.
