If you were a computer gamer at the end of the Eighties, you might well have fond memories of the adventure game Midwinter. The game was a groundbreaking achievement, offering first-person survival gameplay in a fully free-roaming environment – the kind of thing that is commonplace now, but was nearly unthinkable to young Amiga and Atari ST owners.
Those of you that do remember the game might well be interested to learn that an officially licensed comic has just hit the shelves. Penned by Dan Whitehead, a long-term games writer whose work has appeared in our own pages from time to time, the mini-series will consist of four comics and tells the tale of Cassie’s attempts to warn the inhabitants of Midwinter Island about an attack by the General Masters. Art is being handled by PJ Holden, whose previous work includes Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper.
Sound like your cup of tea? If so, check out the comic on Comicsy, where you can pick up the first issue for £4.
