Two decades ago this week the Mega Drive was treated to the second part of Sonic The Hedgehog’s third appearance. With Sonic 3 bolted into the cartridge connector of Sonic & Knuckles, gamers could finally sample everything the title had to offer. Despite its greatness, Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the only title Sega are yet to remaster for touchscreen devices. Having said that though, the key developers behind the iOS and Android ports of the 16-bit titles have put together a proof of concept showing the missing part of the trilogy running on an iPhone.
