The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Is Out Today
The N64 landmark is back in a full remake built for Switch 2, on sale this morning at $59.99 digital / $69.99 physical. Reviews landed yesterday at a glowing 96 on Metacritic, and there is a nice piece of trivia in the credits: Xenoblade studio Monolith Soft shared development duties with Nintendo’s own team. If you only play one remake this year, the consensus says this is the one.
ZERO: A Brand-New Game Boy Color Racer, Out Today for $1.99
Developer Shane McCafferty of Rocketship Park has coaxed a Mode 7–style racer out of the Game Boy Color — the Mode 7 trick the handheld was never supposed to do — with three cups, nine tracks and a boost meter that refills as you pass your rivals. It launches today on itch.io from Thalamus Digital at $1.99, and it plays on original hardware with a flash cart, in emulators, or on an Analogue Pocket.
THE 800XL Has Gone Gold
Retro Games Ltd has finished the firmware on its full-size recreation of the 1983 Atari 800XL, and the machine is now in its final stages before manufacturing. The collector-friendly spec stays intact: a full-size mechanical keyboard, a working cartridge slot, built-in BASIC, HDMI out and 25 built-in games including Asteroids, Crystal Castles and M.U.L.E. It is priced at £199.99 / $219.99, with shipping set for April 2027.
Terranigma Returns in January — and Its Collector’s Pre-Orders Close Sunday
Quintet’s 1995 SNES action-RPG — never released in North America and never re-released since — finally comes home on January 14, 2027, as an enhanced port with a new Arranged Mode and quality-of-life extras. If you want one of Limited Run’s physical editions, the clock is ticking: pre-orders close this Sunday, Nov 8 at 11:59 PM ET, from the $44.99 Foiled Standard on Switch 2 and $64.99 SteelBook up to the $199.99 Gaia Edition with its 200-page art book, soundtrack CD, cloth map and Pandora’s Box music box.
